This is a copy by J. G. Middleton of a portrait of Princess Louise (RCIN 404995) by James Sant. Princess Louise (1865-1936) was the third child and eldest daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales (the future King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra). Inscribed on the back as copied by Middleton after Sant, 1872.
