Laurits Tuxen described his house Villa Dagminne in Skagen as “The last house on the western end of Skagen, situated in an old garden.” He stayed here virtually every year for shorter or longer periods of time from 1902 until his death in 1927. In the southern wing of the building, the oldest part of the house, which used to be called Mrs. Bendsen’s cottage, there was a dining room decorated in the old rustic style.
